CIE Tours permits guide dogs (trained assistance dogs for individuals who are blind or visually impaired) to accompany guests subject to the laws, regulations the policies of the destinations which we visit. This policy applies to guide dogs only - service animals used solely for emotional support, well-being, comfort or companionship are not allowed.
Guests who are travelling with a guide dog must obtain the import permits per each country's regulations. Specific information may be obtained by contacting the United States Department of Agriculture or the applicable United States consulate or embassy of each country to determine such country's policies and to obtain the permits needed. For more information on how to bring a guide dog from the United States to a foreign country, please visit the United States Department of Agriculture website and review the guidance. Please be aware that obtaining import permits can take weeks or months. https://www.aphis.usda.gov/pet-travel
Guide dogs must remain on a leash or in a harness and under your control or the control of someone in your travel party at all times. CIE Tours tour directors are not permitted to take control or assist a guest with a guide dog. Further, you will be responsible for the conduct, care, well-being and feeding of the guide dog. Due to the nature of the group travel experience if for some reason your guide dog is stopped, delayed or detained at any time during your trip CIE Tours will need to continue the tour with the rest of the group without you. Once the issue has been resolved CIE Tours will help make arrangements to reunite you with the group. However, you may incur additional costs and CIE Tours will not compensate you for any portion of your trip that you miss or in which you are unable to participate.
